Koho Zenji

1879-1967. The Honorary Founder of Dharma Rain Zen Center is Keido Chisan Koho Zenji. He is Kyogen's and Gyokuko's grandfather in Zen, and Transmission Master to their teacher, Houn Jiyu Kennett Roshi. Koho Zenji was Abbot of Daihonzan Sojiji, one of the the two head temples of the Soto sect of Zen Buddhism.

Koho Hakugan

Koho Zenji's teacher was Koho Hakugan, shown here in an Abbot's portrait at Raigakuji, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. We don't have dates for his life, but he would have died in the late 19th century, probably in the 1890s.
